Ford Philippines Urges Owners of Affected Vehicles to Address Takata Airbag Recall
MANILA, Philippines, 22 January 2026 – Ford Philippines is once again urging owners of vehicles affected by defective Takata airbags to visit their nearest dealership and have their units inspected and repaired as soon as possible.
The renewed service campaign underscores the company’s continued commitment to customer safety.
“The safety of our customers is our absolute priority,” said M. Pushparaj, Director of the Ford Customer Service Division in the Philippines. “We remain proactive in reminding affected owners to book an appointment with their Ford dealer immediately to ensure a safe and worry-free experience on the road.”
Affected Models
The recall covers specific models and production years, including:
- Ford Ranger (2004–2011) – Driver and Passenger Airbags
- Ford Ranger (2011) – Driver Airbag
- Ford Everest (2006–2014) – Driver and Passenger Airbags
- Ford Everest (2006–2014) – Driver/Passenger and Side Airbags
- Ford Mustang (2010–2014) – Passenger Airbag
- Ford Mustang (2010–2014) – Driver Airbag Inflator or Driver Airbag Module
Owners of these vehicles are strongly encouraged to check whether their unit is included in the recall.
How Owners Can Check and Book Repairs
Ford Philippines has made the process simple and convenient:
1. Check Your VIN
Visit www.ford.com.ph/support/takata-airbag-recalls/ and enter your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to see if your vehicle is affected.
2. Schedule an Appointment
If your vehicle is covered, you may book a service appointment through your preferred Ford dealer via Online Service Booking or by contacting the dealership’s Service Department during business hours.
In select areas, repairs can also be carried out by Ford’s Mobile Service Vehicle (MSV), providing added convenience to customers.
If a defective airbag inflator is found, it will be replaced free of charge. The repair typically takes two to three hours to complete.
Continuing the Safety Campaign
Ford Philippines has already replaced a significant number of Takata inflators in recent years. By re-issuing this service program, the company aims to reach more affected owners and encourage them to take immediate action for their safety and that of their passengers.
For more details, customers may visit the Ford Philippines website or follow its official social media pages for updates.
