Made possible with the support of ES Print Media, Inc., the partnership connects Epson with designer Beatriz Nicole Benadera, resulting in a collection that highlights cultural identity while embracing mindful production practices.
At the heart of the collection is the Waling-Waling, often called the “Queen of Philippine Flowers.” A symbol of resilience and beauty, the iconic bloom serves as the central design inspiration. Its vibrant colors and intricate patterns are reimagined across garments that fuse heritage with contemporary style.
Drawing from the rich cultural diversity of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, Benadera uses textiles as her primary storytelling medium. Instead of relying on heavy embellishments, the collection focuses on fabric itself—where prints, color placement, and structure define each piece’s silhouette.
Bringing these designs to life is Epson’s SureColor SC-F9430H digital textile printer. The technology allows detailed photographic images of the Waling-Waling to be transformed into vivid, high-precision prints that align seamlessly with each garment’s form. Large-scale fabric panels are produced in a single output, preserving intricate details and ensuring consistency across flowing designs.
Beyond aesthetics, the collaboration also highlights the benefits of digital textile printing. Known for its precision and reliability, Epson’s technology offers designers greater flexibility and control. Its on-demand printing capabilities help minimize material waste, supporting more sustainable and responsible fashion production.
“Working with Epson completely changed my creative process,” Benadera shared. “It allowed textile design to become part of each garment and shifted my approach from designing around limitations to designing with confidence.”
For Epson, the partnership reflects its commitment to empowering creativity through innovation. Masako Kusama, Director and President of EPC, emphasized that the company’s solutions enable designers to bring their ideas to life with clarity while promoting mindful production practices.
More than just a fashion line, the collection represents a forward-looking chapter for Filipino design—one where cultural storytelling and modern technology come together to create pieces that honor tradition while embracing the future.
