Everyone has been jumping over to the TWS technology, and trying to squeeze this product into their current lineup. Realme is not an exception, therefore enter Realme Buds Air.
Staying true to its value for money brand strategy, the Realme Buds Air retails for only 3999 Pesos, imagine that compared to other brands.
Its key features includes the R1 Chip + Super Low Latency mode for less audio transmission delays, Touch Sensors for both ears (Look no buttons Ma!), Wireless Charging, USB-C Port, Google Fast Pair (for those sudden disconnection problems), and a bass-boost 12mm dynamic driver.
Review
The yellow box comes with the short USB C Cable, User Manual and of course the Charging Case for the Buds Air (the TWS is inside the case of course).
The Realme Buds Air has that striking similarity to the Apple Airpods, which makes it so premium at its price point.
The buds has quite a smooth curve and is glossy finish under the polycarbonate material. It comes in 3 colors, black, white and yellow.
The body of the buds is rated IPX2 which is water splash resistant, so some minor splash of water and sweat during your morning jog is pretty much okay.
It also has a L and R marking on both buds to prevent wearing on the wrong ear. The sound output has a metallic mesh filter to prevent dirt and dust to enter where the sounds are firing out.
The charging case is USB C ready and whats best is that it supports Qi Wireless Charging.
Now, I have tried playing songs and games using the Buds Air for a couple of days, whats best is that it lasted me almost 3 hours non stop music. The case can provide another 14 hours worth of charge, meaning, you can get at least 17 hours of usage on a single full charge.
Now the gym addict that I am, I have no problem running the treadmill and pumping iron without the buds falling from my ear even I am a little sweaty already.
Whats best is that the sounds are really immersive, given the price, I can say its not really that cheaply made even the price is way way below the Airpods. I love the design especially how it sits on my ears, its not irritating nor itchy when wearing for more than an hour. Other TWS sometimes are quite uncomfortable when sitting long on the ears.
One noticeable flaws on this design is that there is no active noise cancellation (ANC) feature that can block noise from the outside world when you are enjoying your favorite movies or music, or even games. This is not questionable like I said, given the price point is pretty low.
The Buds Air has a triple tap feature wherein you double tap to answer calls or pause playback, then triple tap to skip songs. Long press on one side to launch voice assistant, and long press on both buds to enter or exit gaming mode. How cool is that? Now the gaming mode provides low latency support which is ideal for playing games, it simply reduces audio delays especially when you are ranking in Mobile Legends.
Conclusion
Now the Realme Buds Air is released to the market already, all I expect is that it will really go out of stock for the first few flash sale. Now, if you are a gamer and audiophile, you might want to try this one out, its really an awesome device to go with your phone, haven’t really tried connecting to my laptop, but I believe it should be compatible as well. My only complain is that it looks too similar to the Airpods, Realme could have make a distinct design for its own consumers.
