Against the backdrop of Samal Island’s sun-soaked shores and refreshing sea breeze, Epson Philippines Corporation gathered its media partners for Fusion 17, transforming its annual engagement into a meaningful exchange of ideas centered on sustainability, innovation, and shared responsibility.

Now in its 17th year, Fusion has grown beyond a traditional media gathering. It has become a platform for open conversations about Epson’s vision, priorities, and long-term direction. This year’s theme, ECOPRINT, embodies a simple yet powerful message: meaningful impact is created through everyday actions, consistent practices, and strong partnerships.

The event opened with the Brand Talk session, where Epson executives shared how sustainability continues to shape the company’s strategies and operations. Central to the discussion was Epson’s Engineered for the Future 2035 vision, which guides the company’s efforts to develop solutions that address real-world challenges while creating long-term value for businesses, communities, and the environment.
“At Epson, sustainability is part of how we work every day. It guides the way we develop our technologies, run our business, and work with our partners and communities,” said Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines Corporation. “This reflects the impact that grows from these everyday actions. Through Fusion, we are grateful for the opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another, and continue building meaningful partnerships.”

Throughout the discussion, Epson highlighted how sustainability is woven into both its environmental initiatives and product innovations. The company showcased its Heat-Free Technology and energy-efficient printing solutions, which help organizations reduce power consumption, lower operating costs, and minimize resource use without compromising productivity.

Beyond its products, Epson also shared how sustainable practices are integrated into its own workplace operations. Initiatives such as waste segregation, recycling programs, and the employee-led Trash to Treasure campaign continue to promote responsible waste management within the organization.

These efforts have already produced tangible results. In fiscal year 2025 alone, Epson Philippines collected more than 1,100 kilograms of plastic waste and over 1,100 kilograms of shredded paper, all of which were directed toward recycling and upcycling initiatives.

The company’s sustainability efforts extend beyond its offices as well. Among the projects highlighted during Fusion was Epson’s partnership with WWF-Philippines through a program in Pio Duran, Albay. The initiative focuses on strengthening local waste management systems through improved waste collection, plastic recycling programs, and community capacity-building efforts.

Epson also showcased its Corporate Waste Collection Program, which was first launched in Davao before expanding to Cebu. Through the initiative, channel partners are equipped with systems for the proper collection, disposal, and recycling of used consumables and other waste materials, helping strengthen responsible waste management practices across the company’s network.

Complementing the discussions was Conquer the Elements: The Samal Challenge, an island-wide interactive activity designed to bring participants together through teamwork and collaboration. Media partners navigated a series of challenges inspired by the different elements, testing their adaptability, problem-solving skills, and ability to work together across various locations around Samal Island.

More than just a corporate gathering, Fusion 17 served as a reminder that sustainability is not defined by a single initiative, but by a series of intentional actions carried out consistently over time. Through meaningful conversations, collaborative experiences, and shared commitments, Epson demonstrated how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand in creating lasting impact.
